Samsung SDS AI-based Analysis Platform 'Brightics AI' Media Briefing

Samsung SDS (CEO Jung Yoo-sung) announced to launch its "Brightics AI," an AI-based analysis platform, on June 21 at a media briefing held at Samsung SDS Tower in Jamsil and set on taking over B2B markets.

Following the greetings from president of Samsung SDS Hong Won-pyo (President of Solution Business), Samsung SDS Executive Director Yoon Sim (President of Research) revealed 'Brightics AI,' an enterprise-oriented integrated analysis platform that utilizes AI technology to analyze large amounts of data easily, intelligently, and quickly. 'Brightics AI' can easily process and analyze big data by automating data analysis modeling.

Hong Won-pyo emphasized, "Brightics AI, an enterprise-oriented AI-based analysis platform that integrates 30 years of know-how and analytical capabilities, is expected to lead IT innovation of the fourth industrial revolution such as Smart Factory. We will lead high interests toward big data analysis of domestic and foreign companies to good outcomes."

Among Brightics AI brands announced today, 'Brightics' is a combination of 'Bright' and 'Analytics', showing Samsung SDS's willingness to get bright insights from the data through analytics. And artificial intelligence is fused with it.

Normally, at least two experts should analyze the big data for up to 3 months by making analysis models. However, in case of 'Brightics AI', even ordinary users can easily perform analyzing work within 2 hours with optimum automated algorithm recommendation feature. The report also took a week to write with the existing methods, but it is developed to be able to variously visualize and write according to user's purpose with a single click.

'Brightics AI' is the world's first smart enterprise platform with prescriptive algorithm that suggests solutions based on various AI analysis models such as manufacturing, marketing, and logistics.

Professor Richard S. Sutton of the University of Alberta, the founder of Reinforcement Learning, praised the platform technology using Samsung SDS's prescriptive algorithm, which provides reinforcement learning algorithms extensively, as the best in the world.

'Brightics AI' has greatly improved the speed of analysis by using high-performance distributed processing technology for large amounts of data. With Brightics AI, processes that took more than three hours to collect, analyze, and visualize hundreds of millions of data can be processed in less than 10 minutes, which is 20 times shorter than previous.

Samsung SDS has applied 'Brightics AI' to more than 70 industries including manufacturing, marketing, logistics, security, IoT, and healthcare, and plans to expand into services and finance in the future.

'Brightics AI' has also been selected for the CIO 100 Awards, the world's most prestigious award in technology innovation field for the second consecutive year as a customer application case. By offering a user experience that even novice analyst can easily and quickly analyze data, it won the IDEA award, one of the world's top three design awards, for design in May.

Meanwhile, Samsung SDS will release Cloud version of Brightics AI at the end of this month. The free trial version for enterprise in the cloud environment will be provided to the general public through the homepage so that anyone with basic understanding about the data that one has can experience the data analysis platform. Samsung SDS will be showing not only the enterprise but also the university academy version. The academy version of Brightics AI will be offered to leading universities in Korea for free to actively support AI-based data analysis for university research activities.
